Return of the mules.. who would have thought they would come back with such a modernised look?

For those who are unaware.. a mule is a slip on, a hybrid of a sandal and a heel, which has a chic open back style. It's a shoe you can wear which gives you a sense of ease.

If you haven't seen them hitting the stores yet, no doubt you will in the coming weeks, and they are on our wishlist!

A few ways to pull off the mule:

Try a black mule with a darker denim or skinny pant, a light button down blouse (tucked in or not) and a chunky necklace with a bright lip and loose waves in your hair. Fun and sexy!

See the Crosby Derek Lam, the Ritch Erani or the Sirgerson Morrison below, team the shoe up with a lighter wash denim - a boyfriend cut or slim fit would work well. Throw on a feminine tshirt with a pretty print and you're set!

Last but not least - head back down to our post on the midi. The mule is makes a great team with the midi look, layer it up with a cute blazer and head out!

Tip - if you're wearing pants, try for a crop or roll the cuffs up, the mule can cover most of the top of your foot and can often cause your legs to appear shorter.
